Warren Call

Warren Call serves as the Regional Manager at the Huntington Private Bank, with oversight for Investment & Private Banking across Northern Michigan.   He is active in a number of nonprofit and public policy initiatives dedicated to growing, retaining, and expanding businesses in the Grand Traverse region.  Warren holds a M.B.A. from St. Johns University and a B.A. from Michigan State University.

Jessica Sullivan

Jessica Sullivan is the Vice President of the Hagerty Group Office. She has worked at Hagerty for over seven years. Jessica has over sixteen years experience in the financial services industry. Prior to working at Hagerty, she was a licensed financial advisor and employed at JP Morgan Chase for over seven years working as a personal banker, Vice President branch manager and Vice President in commercial banking.

Jessica is a graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. She has her MBA in Strategic Management from Davenport University. In addition to serving on the GT EDC board she also is the chair of The Children’s House board of directors.

Mike Naughton

Michael Naughton is an attorney and small business owner. After a career in white collar criminal defense in Detroit, Mike relocated to Grand Traverse County. He joined H. Douglas Shepherd IV as co-owner of North Coast Legal, where the firm serves clients locally, across Michigan and nationally. Mike serves on the Board of Governors, and is the president-elect for the Grand Traverse Leelanau Antrim County Bar Association. He also serves on the board for TCNewTech and the Utopia Foundation.

Christian Smith

Christian Smith is the EDC's Secretary of the Board. As President of Interactive Aerial, Christian oversees the company’s global sales, marketing and day-to-day operations. He, and his three business partners, started Interactive Aerial from scratch while finishing college. He studied aviation business at the University of North Dakota where he became a commercial pilot/certified flight instructor and was also involved with several startups at UND’s Center for Innovation. Christian is also involved with Traverse City Chamber of Commerce leadership.

Dennis Arouca

Dennis Arouca spent his career in business and law in Industrial America, primarily with Arcelor Mittal, the world’s largest steel company, where he served in US and global HR leadership roles, and Conrail, the freight railroad, which was a major reorganization/privatization/IPO of financially struggling assets. Dennis serves on the boards of the Grand Traverse Area Manufacturing Council, and Northern Michigan Angels, which invests in regional start up companies. His prior Board experience includes Philadelphia Gas Works. Dennis received a JD from Temple University School of Law, BA from University of Massachusetts and graduated from the Wharton School of Business-Univ of Pennsylvania Advanced Management Program.

Gerald F. Chefalo

Gerald “Gerry” Chefalo and has lived, worked and called Traverse City his home since moving to the area in 1999. Gerry attended Michigan State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Eli Broad College of Business in 1994. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1997, at Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing.

Gerry has worked as a lawyer and trained mediator in private practice specializing in criminal ligation, family law and complex financial issues.

Board affiliations include: former President of the Long Lake Association, current Vice President of The Long Lake Foundation, board member for Addiction Treatment Services (ATS) and SCORE mentor.

Martin A. Colburn

Martin A. Colburn is the City Manager for the City of Traverse City. The City Manager is appointed by the City Commission and is the chief administrative officer for the City. The Manager has a variety of duties including administering the City departments, budgeting, infrastructure development and advising the Commission on issues that come before the City. Before coming to Traverse City, Mr. Colburn worked as the City Administrator in Mason, Michigan for sixteen years. He has 25 years of city management experience working in Michigan, Wyoming, and Arizona. Mr. Colburn also worked on the congressional staff of the US House and Senate, and served with the Arizona National Guard for 9 years.

He holds both a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

He is married to Betsy Colburn, a native Michigander. In his leisure time, he likes to hunt, fish, hike and read, and lives within the City of Traverse City.

Kevin Klein

Kevin Klein is an Accredited Airport Executive and a member of the American Association of Airport Executives since 1994. He is a Past President of the Michigan Association of Airport Executives. Mr. Klein has a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Technology and Operations Management, and a minor in General Business from Western Michigan University. Mr. Klein is a licensed airport manager with the State of Michigan and also holds a Private Pilot Certificate since 1991. As Assistant Airport Director for Cherry Capital Airport, Mr. Klein received numerous professional awards including the FAA Airport Partnership Award in 2009. In 2009 he was recognized for his work on the FAA’s Takeoff and Landing Performance Assessment Group, helping to rewrite the FAA Advisory Circular on Winter Operations. Mr. Klein was instrumental in securing several prestigious awards for Cherry Capital Airport including the FAA Airport Safety Excellence Award in 2004; the Balchen Post Award for Winter Safety Excellence in 2004, 2005, and runner up in 2003 and 2016; and the Airline Pilots Association’s ‘Airport of the Year’ in 2005. Mr. Klein was awarded Airport Manager of the Year by the Michigan Association of Airport Executives in 2017.

Mr. Klein served as Airport Operations Supervisor for Kent County Department of Aeronautics, Gerald R. Ford International Airport and Johnson Controls World Services, Teterboro Airport before joining the Cherry Capital Airport management team in 2002.

Cheryl Gore-Follette

Cheryl Gore-Follette is a 4th-generation native of Traverse City.  She has run a small business for 30 years, served the community for 22 years as a college trustee, and is in her first term as a county commissioner.

Richard Lewis

Richard Lewis spent 17 years in Traverse City, serving as the City Manager from 1991 to 2008. Lewis left his Traverse City job to take a consulting position with the engineering firm CH2M Hill, a position that put him in Colorado for two years and war-torn Afghanistan for another year. He serviced as City Manager St. Joseph, MI beginning on July 1, 2013 and returned to Traverse City as a City Commissioner in November 2015 where he has served since.
